From January 4 to January 31, 2021, you will be able to visit the DAP gallery in Warsaw, located in OW ZPAP at 11A Mazowiecka Street, an exhibition organized by the Sculpture Section of the Warsaw Branch of the Union of Polish Artists entitled Nature. The exhibition will feature Marek Kotarba’s sculpture “Lapholia”.
… “I have only one passion in life,” said Lapholia with poignancy. And always someone puzzled her, or suddenly a local dictator was passing through the vast square, or a shooting star appeared in the sky. In any case, she never managed to finish the sentence. Living in the ancient city, she subconsciously recreated the lines drawn centuries ago by the first passersby. She often sat in the garden, gazing at the blooming flowers, for hours unable to get out of admiration for their delicate petals. Her friends laughed at her, and the tea vendor never wanted her shiny coins, but put his hand to his heart and bowed his head. In the tea, in the admiration of the plants, she found her peace. This calm saved her life – when the crowd gathered in the great square, she would gaze at a sycamore bush in a suburban garden with a cup of tea. When the concentration passed, Lapholia, an employee of the city library, became the only living resident of the ancient city. Today, too, she opened the library punctually at twelve o’clock, even though she knew no one would come.
She walked out in front of the building, straight into the baking sun “I have only one passion in life,” she said….
